A Woodstock mother of three recently won a $250,000 Georgia lottery jackpot from a $5 scratch-off ticket she bought at Kroger, 2295 Towne Lake Parkway, in Woodstock.

Glenis Morales, 36, won playing the instant game Atlanta Falcons Cash Blowout. She claimed her prize Nov. 7 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta. She said she and her husband, Eduardo, are extremely excited.

“We’re looking to buy a new house,” Morales said.

Morales joins a 20-year-old college sophomore from Roswell in the Georgia Lottery’s $250K winners club.

Ryan Barrett matched the first five numbers from the Nov. 6 Mega Millions drawing, winning a $250,000 prize.

Barrett, a sophomore studying computer science at Georgia Perimeter College, claimed his prize recently at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.

And down south, an Echols County grandfather also has joined the club.

William Morris, 64, of Statenville, won a $250,000 prize playing the instant game Millionaire Jumbo Bucks.

Morris claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

An Army veteran, Morris and wife, Brenda, have six adult daughters and 27 grandchildren.

“We’ll help the kids,” he said.

He bought his winning ticket at Wildcats Food Mart, 124 Highway 94 E. in Statenville.

“I stopped for gas and bought a ticket,” said Morris, who scratched it while in his truck. “I didn’t have on my reading glasses, so I drove home and showed it to my wife.”
