Woodstock’s mayor, city council, city manager and department heads will shift into planning mode in early January.

City officials have scheduled their annual planning retreat noon-5 p.m. Jan. 9, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 10 at the Magnolia House, 108 Arnold Mill Road. The council will hear department-head presentations and discuss current and future projects. At its Jan. 12 regular meeting, council members will then work to establish a roster of short and long-term goals to be used as city officials work up the fiscal 2016 budget.

Last year council members endorsed goals ranging from widening Arnold Mill Road/Towne Lake Parkway to developing the city’s Greenprints trail system to establishing municipal court jurisdiction on I-575.

The sessions will be open to the public.
