Woodstock begins the holiday season Saturday with a Christmas Jubilee and Parade of Lights and the lighting of a 30-foot-tall Christmas tree at The Park at City Center.

Events begin at 3:30 p.m. with songs and dances from Elm Street Theater’s upcoming production of “A Christmas Carol.” The audience is asked to bring a can of stew, chili, chunky soup or peanut butter as admission to benefit Papa’s Pantry.

The parade steps off at 5:30 p.m. from Woodstock Elementary School on Rope Mill Road; proceeds south on Main Street through downtown, and ends at Sam's Club at Ga. 92. Roads will be closed for the parade from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. For road closures and a parade map: https://bit.ly/386hG5p

After the parade, visitors can proceed to The Park at City Center for the tree lighting; announcement of parade float winners; Preservation Woodstock’s Citizen of the Year award; Santa Claus in the gazebo; music by Ronnie the D.J.; children’s activities, cupcake decorating, inflatables and a free moonwalk; and food vendors.
