Charlotte Leonard, wife of Woodstock City Council Member Bud Leonard, died Tuesday at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, a city spokeswoman said.

Charlotte Leonard was a 1965 graduate of Chamblee High School, which she attended with her future husband. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last September.

The couple moved to Woodstock in 1993. Bud Leonard, a U.S. Army veteran with 28 years of active and reserve duty and owner of Bud Leonard Automotive in Marietta, joined the City Council in January 2006 and is currently in his third term.

The couple attends Mount Paran North Church, where Bud Leonard is an elder. They have a son, a daughter and three granddaughters, according to a Woodstock city website.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Paran North Church, 1700 Allgood Road, Marietta.
