Weather-related delays in construction of downtown Woodstock’s amphitheater may scuttle the city’s annual summer concert series for 2016.

City Manager Jeff Moon told the Woodstock City Council Monday night that with rain delays have pushed the completion date from June to September. Now, the city may have just one concert in 2016 - during Veterans Day weekend in November.

Moon said an alternative would be waiting until 2017 to resume the series. The decision doesn’t have to be final for a few months.

Council members directed Moon to explore other options for presenting 2016 summer concerts, including a nearby event green at the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village. Moon said the contractor could play catch-up in the meantime if the weather cooperates.
