A 20-year-old Marietta woman whose car was hit by another running a red light has died.

According to Cobb County police, Chassity Hollaman died at Wellstar Kenneston Hospital Friday of injuries she suffered Wednesday in a three-car crash at the intersection of Barrett Parkway and Roberts Boulevard in Kennsaw.

Police said Hollaman had the green light when she pulled her 2006 Toyota Solara into the intersection at the same moment Alberto Jose Abreus, driving a 1996 Infiniti G20, allegedly ran a red light. Police said the Infiniti slammed into the driver’s side door of the Solara and then the two cars struck a stopped 1998 Ford Explorer, driven by Briana Books of Woodstock, who had her two children with her.

Brooks and her children were uninjured. Abreus said he was hurt but declined to be taken to a hospital.

Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb PD said officers expect to charge Abreus.
