A 27-year-old Georgia woman was found dead in a California apartment Thursday morning.

The woman’s name will not be released until her family is notified, according to the San Bernadino County coroner.

At about 1:43 a.m., police responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment complex in Fontana, Calif. Fontana is located about 50 miles east of Los Angeles.

Initially, police believed a suspect may still be inside the apartment. When authorities finally entered an apartment, they found a woman unresponsive on the kitchen floor with traumatic injuries, according to the coroner’s report.

The woman was pronounced dead at 3:20 a.m.
