A Cobb County woman is accused of stealing nearly $1 million dollars since 2001 from the company where she worked, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC.
Angela Lynn Williamson, 43, of Marietta, was arrested Monday at a business in Kennesaw and charged with 11 felony counts of theft by taking, Cobb County jail records show.
She was being held Monday evening on $900,000 bond, jail records said.
Williamson allegedly began stealing from InterContinental Marble Corp., on Northwest Parkway in Marietta, in September 2001, according to her arrest warrant.
From September to December of 2001, Williamson allegedly stole $2,900 from the company by issuing herself checks on the business account, according to the Cobb County Sheriff's Office, which investigated the case.
The following year, the alleged thefts totaled $14,315.50 from five checks Williamson allegedly issued to herself, the warrant states. In 2007, Williamson allegedly issued herself 57 checks totaling $147,090.93, according to police.
And the crimes continued until May 2011, when the alleged thefts were discovered, the warrant states.
In addition to the criminal charges, a civil case against Williamson is pending in Cobb County Superior Court, records show. A hearing in that case is scheduled for May 29, according to the court docket.
When contacted by the AJC, the company president declined to discuss the alleged thefts, citing the pending investigation.
