The Smyrna City Council approved 7-0 Monday a new campus master plan for Whitefield Academy to grow from 800 to 1,200 students.

There would be 10 major additions on the nearly 78-acre campus at 1 Whitefield Drive, “a Christ-centered preparatory school” for PreK4 through twelfth grade.

They include three three-story classroom buildings, a competition gym, a performing arts center, a natatorium, fields and support buildings for lacrosse, soccer, baseball, softball and tennis and 659 parking spaces instead of the current 334.
