Chief Superior Court Judge Brenda Weaver of the Appalachian Judicial Circuit is the newest member of the state Judicial Qualifications Commission.

Weaver was appointed Tuesday by the Georgia Supreme Court to succeed Fulton County Judge Constance Russell. Weaver will serve a four-year term. In recent years, the seven-member JQC has overseen a number of high-profile ethics investigations that led to the resignations of several judges.
