An alleged methamphetamine trafficker who tried to outrun a deputy with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Thursday.

The Walton County Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigation Unit charged the local man, who was not named on the department’s Facebook Page, with trafficking meth and obstruction of an officer.

"He used very poor judgement and ran from a deputy who can run really fast," the Facebook post said.

The man had in his possession 24 ounces of meth and $6,000 cash, the post said.

The street value of this meth is $33,000.
