Atlantans can vote for their city to receive  $1 million grant for hunger relief through a Walmart Facebook campaign.

The campaign began Nov. 15 and runs through Dec. 31.  Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are asking people  to cast their vote on walmart.com/fightinghunger.  They can choose from a list of 100 communities that have high  hunger rates, according to the Food Research and Action Center. The city with the most online support will receive a $1 million grant. The cities with the next  largest support will receive $100,000 each to fight hunger.

As of  9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Atlanta was ranked 23rd with 669 supporters, just  ahead of Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, MA-NH which had 620 supporters. The region includes Atlanta, Sandy Springs and Marietta.
