The city of Waleska is advertising through Nov. 30 for a new city manager/clerk, following the departure of Aimee Abernathy.

The Waleska City Council accepted Abernathy’s resignation Oct. 23, after she announced she was taking a job as city manager in Euharlee. The city clerk in Euharlee said the city council hadn’t yet confirmed her appointment, however.

The new Waleska clerk/city manager will be both record-keeper for and day-to-day administrator of city operations. Mayor Doris Jones said 20-25 people had applied for the job and a decision was expected in early 2016.
