Students say a fight broke out right in middle of a Cobb County classroom. A student says she shot cellphone video of the fight at Pebblebrook High School last Monday. In the video, you can see two girls punching each other, pulling hair, as other students watching yell profanities.
“I see them pulling hair, pushing each other on the floor, jumping up, profanity everywhere, they could have been hurt,” said Pamela Brown, the mother of one of the students involved in the fight.
According to her mother, 14-year-old Me’sean Brown is at home after being suspended for 10 days for fighting.
“We fought two rounds because there was no teacher, and the kids broke it up,” said Me’Sean Brown.
“I feel like my daughter is very much responsible for her part in the fight, she had choice in walking away but I don’t feel like the school has owned up to their responsibility of having a teacher there with those kids,” said Pamela Brown.
Brown says she was told by administrators that the students were unsupervised for the entire 90 minute period.
“What were they learning if there is no teacher there for a whole 90 minutes,” Brown said.
“The incident has been brought our attention and is being investigated. Proper protocol is being followed per the Cobb County School District's Code of Conduct, and as such, any appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken,” a spokesperson for Cobb County School District emailed to Channel 2 Action News.
