Four people from Canton accused of a Cherokee County home invasion were arrested after being caught on tape using the spoils of their theft, authorities said.
Willie Collins, 26, Heather Fernandez, 27, Kenneth Piper, 26, and Mason Thompson were arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery and financial transaction fraud.
The four suspects allegedly entered a home Monday night on Rampley Trail and stole, among other things, the victim's debit card.
Cherokee County Sheriff's detectives released video of the four suspects using the stolen debit card at the Canton Wal-Mart, and responses from the public helped lead to arrests, Lt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.
"Detectives began to receive information on their Facebook page about the identities of those on the video," Baker said. "Investigators were also able to determine that two of the suspects lived at an apartment complex in Canton."
When investigators arrived at the apartment, all four suspects were at there. Investigators obtained a search warrant, and found the victim's purse, a 9mm handgun and three red bandanas that were used in the robbery, Baker said.
Investigators also found receipts from several Canton businesses where the victim's debit card was used, authorities said.
Investigators are still trying to determine why the victim's home was targeted for robbery. Additional charges are likely, and there's a chance that more arrests could be made, Baker said.
Fernandez, Collins, Thompson and Piper are being held at the Cherokee County jail without bond.
