A Vanderbilt University student visiting family while on spring break died in an early morning collision Monday, police in Clayton County said.

Dorothy Legros, 22, was pulling out of her subdivision onto Woolsey Road just before 8 a.m. when her Toyota Corolla was struck by a southbound Ford pickup truck, said Officer India Smith, a spokeswoman for the Clayton Police Department.

The truck forced Legros' car off the road, and she died at the scene, Smith said.

The driver of the pickup, Dalton K. Hunter Cavender, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Smith said.
