The two City of Atlanta pools that were vandalized are now open for swimmers.

The pools at Adams and South Bend parks were both open for the holiday weekend, Sharon Davis with Atlanta's Parks and Recreation Department, told the AJC. The South Bend pool opened a week ago, Davis said.

The city's other pools opened by June 1.

The pools needed about $85,000 in repairs after vandals destroyed bathrooms earlier this year, Davis said.

"All metals, including copper, brass and steel, were taken from the facilities," Davis said.

South Bend Park is located on Lakewood Avenue, about five miles from Adams Park, on Longhorn Lane, in southwest Atlanta.
