Union City fire chief retires

The mayor and city council of Union City presented Fire Chief Donald Leasher with a plaque of appreciation for 22 years of service last week at the city council meeting. As an anchor in the fire department, Chief Leasher provided leadership and helped the city to meet its vision of having a vital public safety presence in the community.

Former Assistant Fire Chief Joe Maddox will become interim fire chief beginning Monday.
