Carroll County authorities Thursday were investigating the apparent shooting deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered overnight.

The bodies were found following a traffic stop in Atlanta, according to Carroll County sheriff's Capt. Shane Taylor.

The motorist stopped in Atlanta "had some weapons on him, and advised [officers] that he had committed a double homicide here in our jurisdiction," Taylor told WSB-TV.

When deputies went to a home off Peek Drive near Carrollton, they found the bodies of a man and a woman inside.

Taylor said there were "possible family ties" between the suspect, who is in his 20s, and the victims. Their names have not been released.
