The Peachtree Corners City Council heard from two church organizations in July seeking zoning changes to allow them to locate in office space within the city. Both will return before the council Aug. 16 for a second read and public hearing.
La Cosecha Church is asking for a special use permit to allow church uses in an office building on 2.03 acres at 6947 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. A community food pantry is operated by the church and conducted during church service hours. It cannot become a separate entity or the primary use on the site.
City Gate Church, is requesting a similar special use permit to allow church uses on 3.05 acres at 3100 Medlock Bridge Road, Suite 270.
If approved, both permits will prohibit any associated day care centers, private schools, recreational facilities, or parking lot expansions. This restriction does not apply to individual programs such as after-school care or Mothers Morning Out.
