Three suspects were in custody Wednesday after an attempted robbery at a Douglas County mobile home park.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a trailer at the Plantation Estates Mobile Home Park on Bankhead Highway just after midnight. When officers arrived, they looked in the window of the mobile home and saw four adults and four children, Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller told Channel 2 Action News.

The adults had their hands tied behind their backs with plastic zip ties, Miller said. Deputies called for backup and the SWAT team, and when they arrived one of the suspects surrendered. A second suspect emerged from the trailer with a gun. He dropped the gun and surrendered after several commands by police, Miller said.

The third suspect, identified as Darnell Maurice Kelly,  jumped out of a window and escaped. He was captured a few hours later. The names of the other two suspects have not been released.

No one was injured in the robbery attempt, Miller said.
