Acworth police have arrested three people – two of them teens – for allegedly shooting out the windows of nearly three dozen vehicles at retail locations on or near Cobb Parkway on Monday afternoon and evening.
At least 31 incidents were reported in Acworth, Kennesaw and in unincorporated Cobb County, Acworth police Major Wayne Dennard said.
Dennard said Acworth officers located an unoccupied silver Chevrolet Impala in the parking lot of the Wal-mart on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw that matched witness descriptions of the vehicle involved in shooting out vehicle windows with a BB or pellet gun.
The officers watched the Impala and waited for the driver to return.
Dennard said that after interviewing the Impala driver, 17-year-old Caleb Fields, “it was determined that he, along with two others, Andrew Morgan, 18 and Christopher Kellner, 22, were involved in the criminal activity.”
Fields was arrested at the Wal-Mart, and the other two were arrested at Morgan’s home in Acworth. Each was charged with criminal damage to property, and Fields was also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Dennard said more charges are pending against the trio.
