Q: Occasionally, six of us will buy Lotto tickets. If we win, can one person claim the prizes, or must all six people go to the claims office? -- Mitchell Gwinn, Marietta

A: If Georgia Lottery players decide to play in a group, prizes may be claimed by a single legal entity, such as a corporation, partnership or trust. Groups, families, clubs or organizations can designate one individual or legal entity to receive a prize payment, or if the prize amount won is $100,000 or more, individual prize payments can be made to each group member (up to 25 members), Tandi Reddick, a spokeswoman for the Georgia Lottery Corp., told Q&A on the News in an email. Additional information on how to claim a prize is available at www.galottery.com.

Q: I have read about numerous death threats leveled at Gov. Scott Walker via Twitter after the Wisconsin recall failed. Are there no laws against threatening the life of a public official, and if not, why? What can be done to prosecute these people? -- Mike Brown, Ellenwood

A: Several Wisconsin law enforcement agencies are investigating the death threats sent from Twitter accounts to Walker after he won the recall election June 5. According to Wisconsin state law, it's a Class A misdemeanor to harass someone if it "is accompanied by a credible threat that places the victim in reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm." It's a Class B misdemeanor to use any "computerized communications systems" to send a message that "threatens to inflict injury or physical harm to any person or the property of any person," according to state law.
