Q: Why is Sunday alcohol sales back on the ballot in Cobb County?
— Nita Poulos, Marietta
A: All Cobb County voters will be able to vote on alcohol sales in the unincorporated areas of the county on July 31 after more than 91,000 residents weren't able to vote on the matter this spring. Only residents of unincorporated Cobb County were allowed to vote on Sunday sales on March 6, but it has since been decided that the residents of the county's six cities, who also pay county taxes, could vote on Sunday sales in unincorporated parts of the county. If Sunday sales pass, it would go into effect on Aug. 12, according to published reports. Sunday sales for Acworth, Kennesaw and Smyrna passed on Nov. 8; it passed for Austell, Marietta and Powder Springs on March 6.
