Q: Would you please let us know the status of the following shows: “Cougar Town,” “Detroit 1-8-7” and “Hawaii Five-O”? Also, did they cancel “Mr. Sunshine”?

-- Sperry M. Wilder, Atlanta

A: ABC's "Cougar Town" likely will be renewed, despite low ratings, and CBS' "Hawaii Five-O" is a strong bet to return, according to a recent USA Today article. "Cougar Town" returned with strong ratings on April 18 after a two-month break, according to USA Today. The future of "Mr. Sunshine" is uncertain after ABC produced 13 episodes but aired only nine. Several reports indicate that "Detroit 1-8-7" will be canceled. The show was cut to 18 episodes by ABC and was bumped several times during its first season, including for a Charlie Sheen interview in early March. The season finale was moved to Sunday, March 20, from the Tuesday night time slot held throughout the year, according to mlive.com, a website of several Michigan newspapers. The networks will announce their final decisions in May.
