Q: What happened to Stacey Elgin on Fox 5?

—Jerome Bernhardt, Marietta

A: Elgin, who was the Fox 5 Road Warrior on "Good Day Atlanta," left the station on Sept. 8 because her contract was not renewed. Elgin, who is expecting twin boys in January, told Q&A on the News that she is taking the time to work on their nursery and prepare for their birth. She added that she misses the viewers and is hoping to return to TV in some capacity as soon as possible.

Q: During the season, Braves pitcher Tim Hudson routinely got IVs before a game. Is this the norm for many other players, and if not, what would cause him to need IVs before a game?

—Martha Hunt, Hoschton

A: Atlanta Braves head trainer Jeff Porter said Tim Hudson is susceptible to dehydration, in part because of his slim build (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) and because he sweats profusely. He's struggled with dehydration since playing for the Oakland A's from 1999-2004. MLB players rarely receive IVs before games, and some teams have stopped providing energy drinks to their players because they think the drinks can cause dehydration.
