The rain that swept through metro Atlanta Monday and Monday night had moved out by early Tuesday, and will be replaced by much colder air by Wednesday and Thursday.

Overnight lows will be in the low to mid-30s Tuesday night and again Wednesday night, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley predicted.

Afternoon highs will hold in the 50s through Thursday, but climb into the mid-60s Friday and upper 60s Saturday, according to Chandley.

Normal high for mid-March is 63 degrees, the normal low 43.

Rainfall totals Monday and Monday night ranged from 1.09 inch at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and 1.13 inches in Peachtree City to 1.56 inches in Dallas and 1.87 inches in Alpharetta.
