Three teenagers were arrested on theft charges Wednesday after a stolen gun went off in a downtown Atlanta apartment, injuring a fourth teen, police said.

The 15-year-old boy was shot late Tuesday night in an apartment on Pine Street.

The victim "was in the room with several other teenagers and they were handling a firearm," Atlanta police Sgt. Reginald Moorman told WSB-TV. According to Fox 5, the boy was shot in the chest.

"Right now, we don't believe that it was intentional," Moorman said. "It was an accidental discharge."

The boy, whose name has not been released, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Atlanta police spokesman Eric Schwartz said late Wednesday morning that the gun was stolen, and Ronald White, Tabyes Moody and Duronte Jones, all 17, were arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property. All three were taken to the Fulton County Jail.
