A 16-year-old told police he was shot accidentally Wednesday morning at a Gwinnett County apartment complex.

But witnesses told officers a different story, Cpl. Edwin Ritter with Gwinnett police said. Some said an argument led to the shooting, he said.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 a.m. at the Indian Trail Apartments, at 1100 Indian Trail Road near Lilburn, police said.

The teenager, whose name was not released, was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries, police said. The teen was in stable condition Wednesday afternoon.
