Teen killed in Forsyth County wreck identified

Forsyth County authorities have identified the boy killed in a single-vehicle wreck there as 17-year-old Paul Louis Castell Jr. of Dawsonville.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said Castell was a passenger in a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup when it left Kelly Mill Road near Rockingham Run, hitting a telephone pole around 1 a.m. Sunday. The impact ejected Castell, who was in the rear, passenger-side seat and reportedly was not wearing a seat belt. The teen died at the scene.

Adam Robert Joseph Di Millo, 17, of Dawsonville, was driving and has been charged with first degree homicide by vehicle, DUI and underage possession of alcohol, authorities said.

The other occupants of the truck were 18-year-old Delton Cook of Cumming and a 15-year-old boy who was not identified because of his age. All three survivors were taken to North Fulton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Di Millo was subsequently taken to the Forsyth County Detention Center.

Authorities are investigating the crash and say further charges are pending.

Friends and classmates mourned Castell on Twitter throughout the day.
