Officials identified a 14-year-old girl who died Thursday after the car she was riding in flipped over in Forsyth County.

Morgan Tumlin, 14, of Buford, was riding with three other people along Lower Pool Park near the Buford Dam Park when driver — Kayla Savanna Welch, 19, of Buford — lost control of the 1996 Toyota Camry she was driving.

The car rolled over and turned back onto its side, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesman Cpl. Robin Regan said.

Morgan was ejected and temporarily pinned underneath the vehicle. She and the other victims were taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth.

Morgan died at the hospital from injuries she sustained in the crash.

Welch and passenger Latoya Tabordon, 22, of Gainesville, were listed in serious condition at the hospital, but Welch was released.

“Tabordon was kept overnight due to being 36 weeks pregnant with twins,” Regan said. “Tabordon is now in stable condition and the babies are expected to be OK.”

Passenger Elijah Mayfield, 18, of Buford, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

“The cause and contributing factors of the crash remain under investigation and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation,” Regan said.
