A 16-year-old boy was indicted Tuesday for murder in the shooting death of his 8-year-old cousin.

A DeKalb County grand jury indicted Charles Robert Oliver for felony murder and aggravated assault in the death of Solomon Zellner, shot July 6 in his home. Solomon's mother was inside the Salem Glen Road home at the time of the shooting, but was not in the same room, police said.

Solomon died the following morning and Oliver was arrested.

In a first court appearance July 7, Oliver told reporters the shooting was an accident.

Solomon would have been in the second grade this fall at Fairington Elementary School, Jeff Dickerson, spokesman for DeKalb County schools, told the AJC.
