A worker and a firefighter were transported to the hospital after a house fire in Grayson, Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Eric Eberly said.

Firefighters were called to a blaze in a two-story home in the 2000 block of Hutton Drive on Wednesday afternoon.

The caller said plumbers accidentally started a fire while working on the house, Eberly said.

Firefighters were met outside by a worker who had burns on his upper extremities, and he was transported to Eastside Medical Center, Eberly said.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital for evaluation of heat-related symptoms, Eberly said.

The fire, which caused extensive damage to the second floor, was brought under control about 20 minutes after firefighters arrived.

An investigation is under way.
