New item-Atlanta

David Hubert is very concerned about a popular park in the city.

“These steps, at the ball fields at Frankie Allen Park in Buckhead, are quite dangerous. Not only are they hazardous to the children using the fields, but are unsafe for parents and grandparents attending the games and parking on the adjacent lot,” he wrote.

We sent the item to the city and will keep you updated.

New item-DeKalb County

Barbara Goldberg has been concerned about potholes for months in DeKalb County.

“Back in April during ‘Pothole Palooza,’ I called the ‘hot line’ to report three very nasty potholes at the corner of Heritage Drive (off Briarcliff Road) and Flemington Road,” she wrote.

Goldberg said no crew has been sent out to patch them up.

“My daughter lives right there on that corner and every time I go over to babysit the grandchildren (a lot) or to a family party (which we had just this week), I am faced with trying to dodge these three potholes. I didn’t want to have to write this, but I feel like I have no choice,” said Goldberg, who has lived in the county for 37 years.

Fixed! Atlanta

In late May, we told you Kathy Forbes request about two fire hydrants that have been leaking for quite some time.

“Two fire hydrants need repair: One has been leaking for six-plus months and the other has been out of service for almost a year. Both are located to the left and right of 500 Means Street NW in Atlanta,” Forbes said.

We got a response back from the city.

“The hydrant at 512 Means St. NW has been repaired and is back in service. The hydrant at 746 Marietta St. was connected to a line that is no longer in use. The DWM crew took that hydrant out of service. There are two fully operational hydrants located less than 50 yards from the out of service hydrant at 746 Marietta St,” said press information officer Christina Cruz Benton.
