A standoff between Gainesville police SWAT officers and an armed man at a motel in the Hall County town has ended with the man being taken into custody.
Channel 2 Action News reported that the incident at the Motel 6 on Monroe Drive began around 9:30 a.m. after a man called police to say that his friend, who is a bounty hunter, was acting strangely at the motel.
The motel was evacuated while police negotiated with the man.
The man, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody around 12:30 p.m. Channel 2 reported that the man would be taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.
