The Suwanee City Council recently congratulated the Suwanee Police Explorers. Explorers from Post 980 recently welcomed new high school students from North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge, Collins Hill, and Lanier high schools. Two Explorers are currently attending the University of North Georgia and are enrolled in UNG’s P.O.S.T. mandate program. These two young adults will graduate as certified GA P.O.S.T. officers.

Youth ages 14-20 can explore a career in law enforcement while also assisting the community through the Explorers program. Explorers meet twice monthly and offer the Suwanee police a helping hand at various city events, from helping direct traffic to assisting children in finding their “lost” parents.

The Suwanee Explorers program is led by Suwanee Police officers Busino, Kessler, and Pope.
