Suwanee is updating the city’s comprehensive plan in a yearlong process that includes community meetings, surveys, and meetings with city officials to determine what the city has already accomplished, what things the city would like to accomplish next, and how to get there. Citizens who live, work or play in Suwanee are invited to share their thoughts about the future by participating in a survey: www.suwanee2040plan.com/survey/.

Suwanee’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan was completed in 2008. A comprehensive plan is a long-range plan that establishes strategies to address short-term needs and opportunities of a community while moving toward realization of its long-term goals for the future over the next 20 years.

Unlike the ‘Downtown Suwanee Master Plan,’ which was completed in 2015, the Comprehensive Plan is a city-wide plan. Once completed, the 2040 Comprehensive Plan will help dictate public policy related to transportation, economic development, land use, facilities, recreation, social services and housing.
