The man accused of shooting his live-in girlfriend multiple times, then leaving her to die in a front yard was arrested Friday, Clayton County police said.

Willie Thomas Mosley, 51, was charged with felony murder for the death of Doris Young, 43, on Easter, according to Officer Danielle Rosa.

Mosley had eluded capture since allegedly driving away from the Pine Meadows Drive home the couple shared and where Young was shot. Clayton County police asked for the public's help Monday in locating Mosley, who also faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to police.

On Friday, Mosley agreed to meet with Clayton County police and U.S. Marshals at the county’s jail, where he surrendered, Rosa said. Mosley was booked into the jail, where he was being held Friday afternoon without bond.
