River Line Historic Area supporters are attempting to save the Hooper-Turner House, 5811 Oakdale Road, Mableton from demolition by the City of Smyrna.

They are encouraging those wanting to save the 1850 house to wear a red shirt at 6 p.m. Monday at the Cobb County Historic Preservation Commission meeting, 100 Cherokee St., second floor, Marietta.

On the Cobb County Historic Register, this antebellum house is centrally located within The River Line Historic Area with plans for its rehabilitation as a multi-purpose community facility, including as a River Line Visitor’s Center.
