The second day of winter won’t be terribly cold, but you’ll want you bring an umbrella because it’s expected to get soggy.
Sunday’s chance of rain is 100%, and it could put a damper on those last-minute holiday shopping plans, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
Areas south of I-20 could see anywhere between 2 and 4 inches of rain, Deon said.
The day’s high is expected to top out at about 48 degrees, so it might be best to bring a jacket along just in case.
The wet weather should stick around for Monday as well, but conditions in Atlanta are expected to improve drastically just in time for Christmas.
Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast to reach the mid-60s as the clouds part and the sunshine returns.
The worst holiday travel time for Atlanta was Friday evening, which has come and gone. But there are still plenty of people hitting the road and heading to the airport.
Drivers may also see some afternoon delays near Mercedes-Benz Stadium as the Atlanta Falcons host the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1 p.m.
