With the recent passage of SPLOST, Sugar Hill officials expect funding to become available for all three phases of the Sugar Hill Greenway project. The master plan for the project includes an 11.5-mile greenway around the city with approximately 16.5 miles of trail intended for shared use by pedestrians, bicyclists, wheelchair users, joggers, and other non-motorized users.

Phase 1 is approximately 4.7 miles and will connect the portions of the Sugar Hill Greenway from West Broad Street in Downtown Sugar Hill to Whitehead Road. The city hopes to see initial signs of progress on Phase 1 of the Sugar Hill Greenway beginning early next year.
