Student hurt in bus wreck

Authorities are investigating an accident Monday morning involving a school bus and an SUV in northwest Atlanta that sent the bus driver and one student on the bus to an area hospital for evaluation.

Three students were on the bus that was traveling to Boyd Elementary School, according to Atlanta Public Schools spokesman Keith Brommery, when the crash occurred near Habershal Drive and Perry Boulevard.

The SUV hit the rear section of the school bus, according to Atlanta police. The bus driver and student were evaluated by paramedics, who decided to transport them to a hospital for further evaluation, according to Brommery.
