Duluth citizens raved about the city’s first contracted street sweeping effort last summer. As a result, the city will start a renewed street sweeping plan beginning Jan. 7. Contractors anticipate it will take approximately three weeks to complete the entire city.

City staff will begin posting temporary “No Parking” signs along the streets at least 24 hours in advance. Residents are asked to move vehicles and other obstacles off the streets after 7 p.m. for at least a week once the signs have been placed so the sweepers can remove debris, trash, and other pollutants that would otherwise wind up in storm drains, creeks, and rivers.
