The Roswell Arts Fund has announced the city's first, artist-designed "street piano." The ribbon-cutting ceremony to introduce "Zoey" is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the East Roswell Park Recreation Center, 9000 Fouts Road.

The Arts Fund partnered with Play Me Again Pianos, a nonprofit that is placing and maintaining 88 public pianos around the metro Atlanta area. Zoey, designed by local artist Amol Saraf, is the organization's 19th placement.

The ribbon-cutting will be followed by a brief performance; after that, Zoey will be available for anyone to play, officials said.

“A street piano transforms an ordinary space into an unexpected musical opportunity,” said Rochelle Mucha, Roswell Arts Fund chairperson. “Street pianos are a catalyst for creating conversation, activating spaces, and bringing out smiles.”
