The Stockbridge City Council voted at its Dec. 9 regular meeting to approve an $11.59 million proposed budget for the upcoming year.
Three new staff positions are in the proposed budget, which was created based on projected revenues and expenditures for 2020. City manager Randy Knighton said that the city has seen a significant increase in the tax digest, with both residential growth and commercial growth. The vote was unanimous and came after the third reading, with no public comment given at either of the two previous public hearings.
The only citizen to speak during the Dec. 9 public hearing asked if funds were included in the new budget for Cochran Park should the city take possession. That was not addressed.
