Henry County Superior Court Judge Wade Crumbley ruled recently that the recent Stockbridge annexation of property on the southwest corner of the Interstate 75/Jodeco Road interchange is null and void because the property in question is not contiguous to existing city land.
The tract is the proposed site of a major multi-use development. The action came as a result of a lawsuit filed by Henry County government against Stockbridge and the property owner after the vote in April to accept the annexation.
City officials have not commented on the court ruling and the next scheduled City Council meeting is Oct. 10.
