A new health director for the Georgia Department of Public Health’s District 2, which includes Forsyth County, has been named.
Pamela Logan is taking the reins from the retiring Dr. David Westfall. Logan received her medical degree from Howard University and her Master of Public Health in health care management and policy from Emory University. She also earned degrees from Georgia State University and Spelman College.
Logan also undertook a preventative medicine residency at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, studying infectious diseases.
The district provides an array of services to 13 northeast Georgia counties, ranging from immunizations to food service inspections.
