The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted recently to approve upcoming renovations to the Mountain Park Aquatic Center at 1063 Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain.

The $275,537 contract with Waterworks Atlanta, Inc. includes repair work on the pool shell and piping, cleaning of the pool, and replacement of the interactive aquatic play structure in the center’s leisure pool. Currently the leisure pool contains two giant waterslides, a river channel, bubble bench, vortex and water play structures.

Construction and renovation will take about 200 days to complete. The project is being paid for using 2017 Special Local Option Sales Tax funds.
