Speed limit lowered to 60 mph on portion of I-985 in Flowery Branch

Continued work on the new interchange at I-985 in Flowery Branch will require the speed limit to change during construction. Beginning at 9 a.m. March 19 a.m. the speed limit on the I-985 corridor will be lowered from 70 to 60 miles per hour between Spout Springs Road (Exit 12) and State Route 53 (Exit 17).

The reduced speed limit is needed to increase safety to the work zone since there will be workers in close proximity to the roadway.

The lowered speed limit will remain in place until the project is completed in August 2019.
