City of South Fulton Mayor William “Bill” Edwards recently swore in members of the city’s first South Fulton Development Authority. During the regular June City Council meeting members sworn in include Mayor Pro Tem Mark Baker, Stacy Blackley, Arnold Jiggetts, Shelley Lamar, Jamal Grooms and Ric Ross.

In December 2018, the Mayor and City Council voted to activate the South Fulton Development Authority for the purpose of developing and promoting the public good and general welfare, trade, commerce, industry and employment opportunities in the City of South Fulton, according to a press release.

Authority members general duties include preparing analysis of economic activity taking place in the city, studying the city’s impact of growth, and creating plans for development of public or private facilities. Members are also tasked with implementing those plans.

Authority members are appointed by City Council and serve four year terms. All authority members must also be tax-paying residents of the city of South Fulton.
